Here is a topic I touched on in one of my previous postings. Its about making mistakes.
Often when I meet entrepreneurs there is a part of a conversation dedicated to where they have been and what they have done to get them to where they are in their careers. Also often part of this discussion will centre around what went wrong. What I have noticed is that there is a difference between how the people who are more successful deal with their failures compared to those still struggling.
The more successful ones seem to have accepted failures as just part of lifes rich pattern.
So being able to admit somthing went wrong seems to be a key skill in making progress in all areas of life. Its also not an easy one to tackle and something I am still learning to do myself.
Sometimes as Entrepreneurs we do put ourselves in risky situations, make fools of ourselves, and generally just get things wrong. If you have been an entrepreneur for any length of time you will also realise that there are always 101 people queuing up to tell you how you could do things better than you currently are.
I have seen the following piece of text in a few forms on the internet. I’m not really sure where it orignated from. Basically its about forgiving yourself, and others, for past mistakes and moving past them. Its worth giving it a read from time to time if you feel things getting on top of you.
Find a nice quiet place, take a few deep breaths and repeat the following text out loud or to yourself.

I made mistakes as part of my learning. I HAD to make those mistakes to see where I can move to next. There is no way I could NOT have made them. Those mistakes are the foundation of new power just as soon as I forgive and release them.
Since more mistakes will always be unavoidable, I will embrace them MORE quickly, forgive MORE easily, so I can more quickly move into POWER.
Forgiving others, and letting them go is good training for forgiving myself. So even if they don’t “deserve” it I will do it for my own sake. I will either get what I want or learn what I need to. Mistakes are just MARKERS, marking out where I can step into new freedom, choice, power and growth.
I may wish I had been born more evolved or perfect, but THIS is my path and I embrace it, I may not always like it, I may slip and grumble, BUT THIS IS MY PATH. I will let my learning’s pull me forward. I will never stop learning until I draw my last breath and in that last breath I will learn what THAT is like as I embrace the source of all learning … right now, today.

Feeling better? Right, back to it then.
The problem is being able to be aware when you have made a mistake, not beat yourself up about it, and fundamentally move on.
As a teacher/trainer this is often how I advise my students, to learn from their mistakes, and also not worry about making them.
In business and for yourself this is harder to take on board.
I try not to get to absorbed in the mistakes, and bad choices I make in business, just to sue the frustration and negative energy to fire up the next project.
